Through the similarities and differences between ?yurveda, the Traditional Chinese medicine, this study aims to provide an understanding of the basic structure and life force of both systems of medicine, centered on the concepts of the five elements (?k??a, v?yu, tejas, ?pas, and p?thivi) in ?yurveda and the five elements (water, fire, wood, steel, and earth) in Traditional Chinese medicine. ?yurveda uses the three do?a and seven basic tissues and organ (dh?tu) to explain the body's function and disease, while Chinese medicine centers on the interaction of the five elements and organs to understand the body and disease. Both systems emphasize the importance of life force energy and its relationship to the body's various tissues and organs, and there are similarities in their approach to the causes and treatment of disease, particularly the importance of digestion and its relationship to emotions and energy flow. The differences in the formulation of the two theories, which stem from cultural, climatic and geographical differences, show that although they have different forms of medicine, they use similar approaches to understanding the human body and mind at their core, providing a deeper understanding of the two traditional systems of medicine and a basis for further research.
